BATTORDER — Attribute Order
Changes the order in which the block attributes are prompted (in the Block Editor).
- Command:
BATTORDER· Global name:_BATTORDER
Changes the order of the attribute definitions of the block being edited, like AutoCAD BATTORDER: it is the order in which INSERT asks for their values. It only works in the Block Editor (BEDIT).
Usage
- In the Block Editor, enter BATTORDER or click the button on the editor tab.
- In the Attribute Order dialog box, pick a tag and move it with Move Up and Move Down.
- Click OK and save the block with BSAVE.
In scripts, SCRIPT and AutoLISP there is no dialog box: enter the tags in the new order, separated by commas; the ones you leave out go after them, in their order.
Enter the tags in the new order (separated by commas):
Notes
- Existing inserts keep the order of their attributes until they are synchronized with ATTSYNC.
- AutoCAD prompts the attributes of a block made with a window in reverse order (from the last created to the first), and so does LinceCAD: this command fixes it. The dialog box cannot be scripted in the AutoCAD console (BATTORDER does not exist outside the Block Editor, which cannot be scripted either): it has a unit test.
