-INSERT — Insert (command line)
Inserts a block or a drawing asking at the command line.
- Command:
-INSERT· Global name:_-INSERT· Alias:-I - Ribbon: Insert › Block
- Menu: Insert
Inserts a block or a drawing asking everything on the command line, without opening the Blocks palette. This is the INSERT used in scripts.
Usage
- Enter -INSERT (or -I).
- Enter the block name. You can also enter the path of a DWG or DXF file (
C:\drawings\door.dwg),name=pathto give it another name,~to choose the file in a dialog box or?to list the blocks.
Enter block name or [?]:
- Specify the insertion point. The block follows the cursor.
Specify insertion point or [Scale/Rotate]:
- Enter the scale factor or specify a point: its distance to the insertion point is the scale.
Specify scale factor <1>:
- Enter the rotation angle in degrees or specify a point in the desired direction.
Specify rotation angle <0>:
- If the block has attributes, enter the value of each one; Enter keeps the default value.
Options
- Scale (S): before specifying the point, sets the scale; the block already moves at that size.
- Rotate (R): before specifying the point, sets the rotation.
Notes
- The scale is uniform (the same in X, Y and Z) and cannot be 0. For a different scale on each axis, use the INSERT palette.
- An inserted drawing is copied as a block named after the file, with its layers, linetypes, styles and blocks. If a block with that name already exists, the existing one is used.
- The preview shows at most 2000 objects of the block.
