SCALE — Scale
Enlarges or reduces objects from a base point.
- Command:
SCALE· Global name:_SCALE· Alias:SC - Ribbon: Home › Modify
- Menu: Modify
- Toolbar: Modify
Enlarges or reduces the selected objects from a base point, the only point that does not move.
Usage
- Enter SCALE (or SC) or click Scale on the ribbon.
- Select the objects and press Enter. If they were already selected before starting the command, they are used without asking.
Select objects:
- Specify the base point.
Specify base point:
- Specify the scale factor: typed (greater than 0;
2doubles,0.5halves) or with a click, and then the factor is the distance from the base point to the point.
Specify scale factor or [Copy/Reference]:
With Copy a copy is scaled and the original stays; with Reference you give the reference length and the new one (Specify reference length <1.0000>:), and the factor is new / reference.
Notes
- The factor is the same in X and Y: circles stay circles and blocks change their scale.
- With no command running you can scale with grips: select the objects, click a grip (it becomes the base point) and press Space until the scale mode.
Specify scale factor or [Base point/Copy/eXit]:
- Scaling a table enlarges its rows and columns, but the height of its texts comes from its style and does not change.
- The Copy and Reference options are the AutoCAD ones; in Reference, Points gives the new length with two points.
