OPTIONS — Options…
Application preferences.
- Command:
OPTIONS· Global name:_OPTIONS· Alias:OP,PREFERENCES - Ribbon: Manage › Drawing
- Menu: LinceCAD
- Menu: Tools
Opens the application preferences: the interface language, how numbers are written, the QNEW template and the start page. They belong to LinceCAD, not to the drawing: they apply to every drawing and are kept when the program closes.
Usage
- Enter OPTIONS (or OP) or click its button. The Options dialog box opens.
- Change what you need. The changes show at once in the whole window.
- Click OK (or Apply, which saves without closing). Cancel goes back to the previous preferences.
Interface tab
- Language: the language of the menus, ribbon, dialog boxes, command line and help (Spanish or English). Global command names (
_LINE) work in any language. - Country: the country you work in. Online maps are framed to its extent (or, if it does not fit, to its capital) when the view lies outside the layer. With Automatic (from the system) it is taken from the system regional settings or the drawing coordinate system; if it cannot be told, LinceCAD asks once (with the Remember my choice box) and stores the answer here.
- Theme: CAD Optimus (default: blue-grey dark, AutoCAD style), Follow system, Light or Dark.
- Number format: Automatic (by language), Decimal comma (1234,56) or Decimal point (1234.56).
- Decimal places: from 0 to 8, the decimal places the interface uses to show numbers.
- Example: a coordinate written with the chosen format.
Open and Save tab
- QNEW template: the template QNEW starts drawings with, without asking (also the startup one). With None (ask), QNEW asks like NEW. The … button chooses another one.
- Start page: shows the start page (templates, open and recent files) while nothing has been drawn.
Display tab
Display lineweight (LWDISPLAY), Fill hatches and solids (FILLMODE), Quick text (QTEXTMODE), Show the control polygon of splines (SPLFRAME) and Display transparency (TRANSPARENCYDISPLAY).
Drafting tab
AutoSnap (AUTOSNAP): Marker, Magnet and Display AutoSnap tooltip. Selection: Select a group with one of its objects (PICKSTYLE) and Delete source objects when creating boundaries and regions (DELOBJ). For snap, grid and object snap modes use DSETTINGS.
Notes
- Preferences are saved in
%APPDATA%\lince\preferencias.toml(on Linux,~/.config/lince). The first time, the system language is used if there is a catalog for it. - Drawing measurements (DIST, AREA, LIST, dimensions) follow the format and precision of UNITS.
- There are five tabs: Interface, Open and Save, Automation (the local API and the MCP server), Display and Drafting; these two change drawing variables (like SETVAR) and are not application preferences. AutoCAD's other tabs (Plot and Publish, System…) are not available. The AutoLISP preferences are in APPLOAD.
