ISODRAFT — Isometric Drafting
Turns isometric drafting on in an isoplane, or back to orthographic.
- Command:
ISODRAFT· Global name:_ISODRAFT· Alias:ISOD - Ribbon: View › Coordinates
- Menu: Tools
Turns on isometric drafting in one of its three planes, or goes back to orthographic drafting. In isometric mode you draw an axonometric view of an object in a flat drawing: edges run at 30°, 90° and 150°, depending on the plane (left, top or right) you draw in.
Usage
- Enter ISODRAFT (or ISOD) or click the button.
- Choose the plane; Enter, the top one.
Enter an option [Orthographic/Left/Top/Right] <Top>:
Options
- Left (L), Top (T) and Right (R): turn on isometric drafting in that plane.
- Orthographic (O): goes back to normal drafting, with horizontal and vertical axes.
With isometric drafting
- Ortho (F8), the grid, snap (F9) and the crosshairs follow the two axes of the current plane.
- F5 or Ctrl+E switch to the next plane (left, top, right); so does ISOPLANE.
- The ISO button on the status bar shows the plane and, with a click, turns the mode on or off.
- ELLIPSE offers the Isocircle option: the ellipse that represents a circle in the current plane, given by its center and its radius or diameter.
Specify radius of isocircle or [Diameter]:
Notes
- The mode is saved in the drawing as in AutoCAD, in the SNAPSTYL and SNAPISOPAIR variables.
- It is an aid for drawing in 2D: it does not create a 3D model.
