SNAP — SNAP
Snap to grid.
- Command:
SNAP· Global name:_SNAP· Alias:SN· Shortcut: F9
Turns the snap on and off and sets its spacing: while a command asks for a point, the cursor jumps to the nodes of an invisible grid with that spacing. Also with F9 or the SNAP button on the status bar.
Usage
- Enter SNAP.
Specify snap spacing or [ON/OFF/Aspect/Style/Type] <…>:
- Type the spacing (snap turns on with it), choose an option or press Enter to leave it as it is.
Options
- ON / OFF: turns snap on or off.
- Aspect (A): different spacings in X and Y.
Specify horizontal spacing(X):
- Style (S): standard or isometric snap (SNAPSTYL).
Enter snap grid style [Standard/Isometric] <S>:
- Type (T): grid or polar snap.
Enter snap type [Polar/Grid] <Grid>:
Notes
- With no spacing set, the spacing is that of the grid on screen, a power of 10 that changes with the zoom.
- The spacing is saved in the drawing (SNAPUNIT). Polar type is saved, but the cursor still snaps to the grid.
- Object snaps and tracking take precedence over SNAP; ortho is applied afterwards.
