UNDO — Undo
Undoes the last command.
- Command:
UNDO· Global name:_UNDO· Shortcut: Ctrl+Z - Menu: Edit
- Toolbar: Standard
Undoes one or more commands that changed the drawing, as in AutoCAD. Each command is undone as a whole (all the lines of a LINE, all the copies of a COPY…). Its options return to a mark, group several commands to undo them at once and limit or disable the history.
Usage
- Enter UNDO with no command active.
- Enter how many operations to undo and press Enter (Enter alone undoes one), or choose an option.
Enter the number of operations to undo or [Auto/Control/BEgin/End/Mark/Back] <1>:
Ctrl+Z, the Undo button of the Quick Access toolbar and U undo one operation without asking.
Options
- Mark (M): places a mark in the history.
- Back (B): undoes back to the last mark and removes it. If there is none, everything is undone.
- BEgin (BE) and End (E): everything you do between UNDO BEgin and UNDO End counts as a single operation (it is undone and redone at once). A BEgin with a group open closes it and opens another one.
- Auto (A): ON or OFF. Kept for compatibility; here each command is always one operation already.
Enter UNDO Auto mode [ON/OFF] <ON>:
- Control (C): All keeps the whole history; None clears it and disables UNDO and U (only the Control option is left, to turn it on again); One keeps only the last operation. Combine and Layer are kept for compatibility (zoom, pan and the layer changes of the palette do not take separate steps).
Enter an UNDO control option [All/None/One/Combine/Layer] <All>:
What is undone
- Drawing and editing commands.
- Changes made in the Properties palette or on the ribbon (layer, color, linetype…).
- Changes to layers, styles and linetypes, and those of UNITS, SETVAR, PURGE and AUDIT.
Notes
- The last 50 operations of each drawing are kept; each tab has its own list.
- Inquiries (DIST, LIST…), zoom and pan do not change the drawing and do not take up a step.
- Inside a command such as LINE or PLINE, the Undo option of its prompt removes only the last segment.
- To restore only what was erased, without undoing what was done afterwards, use OOPS.
