REGION — Region
Converts closed curves into regions.
- Command:
REGION· Global name:_REGION· Alias:REG - Ribbon: Home › Draw
- Menu: Draw
Converts closed curves into regions: flat surfaces saved in the same way as in AutoCAD. Each closed curve selected becomes a region and the original curve is erased.
Usage
- Enter REGION (or REG) or click Region. If objects were already selected, those are used.
- Select closed polylines, circles, ellipses or closed splines.
Select objects:
- Press Enter. The program reports how many loops it found and how many regions it created.
Notes
- Each region takes the layer, color and linetype of the curve it comes from.
- Only closed curves made of a single object can be used: separate lines or arcs that enclose an area are not joined into a region. For that, use BOUNDARY with the Region type or join the segments with PEDIT.
- Ellipses and splines are turned into a very fine polygon that approximates them.
- There are no operations between regions (union, subtraction, intersection).
- To get curves back, explode the region with EXPLODE.
