QSAVE — Save

Saves the current drawing.

Saves the current drawing to its file, in the same format and version it was opened with. A new drawing, which has no name yet, asks where to save it.

Usage

1. Enter QSAVE, press Ctrl+S or click its button.
2. If the drawing has no name, the SAVEAS dialog box opens with the DWG 2018 format.
3. The status bar confirms the path, the version and the time taken. The * on the tab disappears.

Notes

• Saving is safe: the file is first written next to it under another name; the previous one is kept as .bak and only then replaced. If anything fails, the original is left untouched.
• DWG files older than version 2000 are saved as DWG 2018.
• A read-only file cannot be overwritten.
• Every 10 minutes with unsaved changes, LinceCAD makes an automatic save in %TEMP%\lince (.sv$ files), without touching your file. It is deleted when the drawing is closed.
• In the block editor, the whole drawing is saved.
