OPEN — Open
Opens a DWG or DXF drawing.
- Command:
OPEN· Global name:_OPEN· Alias:OPENURL,DXFIN· Shortcut: Ctrl+O - Menu: LinceCAD
- Menu: File
- Toolbar: Standard
Opens a DWG or DXF drawing in a new tab. The file is read in the background, with a progress bar, so the window keeps responding even with large files.
Usage
- Enter OPEN or press Ctrl+O.
- Choose the file in the dialog box. You can also drag the file onto the LinceCAD window.
- When it finishes, the status bar says how many entities it has and how long it took, and the view shows the drawing extents.
Notes
- If the file is already open, its tab becomes current instead of opening it again.
- If the current drawing is untouched (Drawing1 with no changes), the opened one takes its tab, as in AutoCAD.
- Its external references and the text fonts in the drawing's folder are loaded too.
- If there is an automatic save of the same drawing newer than the file (from a session that did not close properly), the command line warns about it and says where it is.
- If the file is damaged and does not open, try RECOVER.
