OSNAP — OSNAP
Object snap.
- Command:
OSNAP· Global name:_OSNAP· Alias:OS,DDOSNAP· Shortcut: F3
Turns running object snaps on and off: while a command asks for a point, the cursor jumps to nearby key points (endpoints, midpoints, centers, intersections...) and a marker shows which one was found. It is not typed as a command: use the F3 key or the OSNAP button on the status bar.
Usage
- Press F3 or click the OSNAP button to turn them on or off.
- Right-click the button to choose the modes: Endpoint, Midpoint, Center, Intersection, Perpendicular, Tangent, Quadrant, Insertion, Node, Extension and Nearest. Select All and Clear All check or clear them all.
Temporary snaps
When a command asks for a point, type the first three letters of a mode to use it for that point only, even with running snaps off: END, MID, CEN, INT, PER, TAN, QUA, INS, NOD, EXT or NEA (the Spanish names FIN, MED, CUA, CER... also work).
Notes
- Object snaps take priority over tracking, SNAP and Ortho.
- Object snap tracking (OTRACK, F11) needs object snaps on to acquire points.
- They are on at startup.
