- Command:
MLINE· Global name:_MLINE· Alias:ML - Ribbon: Home › Draw
- Menu: Draw
Draws multilines: several parallel lines that run together, according to a multiline style. They are used, for example, for walls or roads.
Usage
- Enter MLINE (or ML) or click Multiline. The prompt shows the current justification, scale and style.
Current settings: Justification = …, Scale = …, Style = …. Specify start point or [Justification/Scale/STyle]:
- Specify the start point and the following ones.
Specify next point: Specify next point or [Close/Undo]:
- Press Enter to finish.
Options
- Justification (J): which line passes through the points you give.
Enter justification type [Top/Zero/Bottom] <…>:
- Top (T), Zero (Z) and Bottom (B): the top line, the axis of the style or the bottom line.
- Scale (S): multiplies the spacing of the style. A negative scale reverses the order of the lines.
Enter mline scale <…>:
- STyle (ST): multiline style;
?lists those in the drawing.
Enter mline style name or [?]:
- Close (C): with three points or more, joins back to the first one and ends the command.
- Undo (U): removes the last point.
Notes
- Justification, scale and style are changed before the first point and saved in the drawing for the next time.
- As in AutoCAD 2027, Style only picks one of the styles the drawing already has (Standard, two lines at ±0.5, if there is no other); a name that does not exist is rejected and asked again. Styles are created and loaded from .mln files with MLSTYLE.
- For crossings, tees, cuts and welds of multilines, use MLEDIT.
