MLEDIT — Edit Multiline
Crosses, tees, corners, vertices, cuts and welds of multilines.
- Command:
MLEDIT· Global name:_MLEDIT - Ribbon: Home › Modify
- Menu: Modify
Edits multilines: resolves their crossings, tee junctions and corners, adds or deletes vertices and cuts or welds their elements. The tool is chosen in the Multiline Edit Tools dialog box, as in AutoCAD 2027, or, on the command line (-MLEDIT and scripts), by its two-letter code, the same ones as in AutoCAD.
Usage
- Enter MLEDIT.
- Click the tool in the dialog box (or, on the command line, type its code: table below).
Enter mline editing option [CC/OC/MC/CT/OT/MT/CJ/AV/DV/CS/CA/WA]:
- For crosses, tees and corners, select the first multiline and the second one. For the other tools, select the multiline at the point where the tool acts and, if asked, specify the second point.
Select first mline or [Undo]: Select second mline: Select mline or [Undo]: Select second point:
- The prompt repeats with the same tool to keep editing; Enter finishes.
| Code | Tool |
|---|---|
| CC / OC / MC | Closed, open or merged cross between two multilines |
| CT / OT / MT | Closed, open or merged tee (the first one ends on the second) |
| CJ | Corner joint: both multilines are trimmed or extended until they meet |
| AV / DV | Add or delete a vertex at the selected point |
| CS / CA | Cut one element or all of them between the selected point and the second point |
| WA | Weld all the elements between both points (removes the cuts) |
Options
- Undo (U): undoes the last edit without leaving the command.
Notes
- It does not use preselection. If the selected object is not a multiline, a message says so.
- In a tee, the piece left after the junction loses its cuts; deleting a vertex recalculates the miters of the whole multiline.
- -MLEDIT does the same without the dialog box. The dialog box shows the tool names (AutoCAD shows pictures).
