LANDXMLIN — Import LandXML
Imports the surfaces and points of a LandXML file.
- Command:
LANDXMLIN· Global name:_LANDXMLIN - Ribbon: Topography › Terrain data
Imports a LandXML 1.2 file, the exchange format of Civil 3D, MDT/TcpMDT, BricsCAD Civil and many field data collectors: each TIN surface is created as a surface (like SURFACE) and each COGO point (CgPoint) as a point object.
Usage
- Enter LANDXMLIN or click Import LandXML in the Terrain data panel of the Topography tab.
LandXML file:
- Choose the
.xmlfile. Surfaces and points are created on the current layer.
Notes
- LandXML stores coordinates as northing, easting, elevation; LinceCAD places them as X = easting, Y = northing.
- If the file states its coordinate system (
epsgCode) and the drawing has none, the drawing adopts it; if the drawing has another, the data are reprojected. - Faces marked invisible (outside the boundary) are not imported; four-vertex faces are split into two triangles.
- A DWG face mesh holds at most 32,767 vertices: a larger surface is skipped with a warning.
- Surfaces and points are imported; alignments, profiles and parcels are ignored for now. Points arrive as point objects, without their name or code.
- Metric units are assumed.
