COORDTABLE — Coordinate table
Creates a table with the number, X, Y, Z and code of the selected points or vertices.
- Command:
COORDTABLE· Global name:_COORDTABLE - Ribbon: Topography › Terrain data
Creates a coordinate table: a table (AutoCAD TABLE object) with the number, X, Y, Z and, if any, the code of the selected points, blocks or polyline vertices. It is meant for setting-out and control-point drawings. It can label the numbers in the drawing and write the same rows to a CSV file.
Usage
- Enter COORDTABLE or click Coordinate table in the Terrain data panel of the Topography tab.
Select objects:
- Select points, blocks with attributes or polylines (2D, 3D or lightweight) and press Enter.
- In the Coordinate table dialog choose the format and, optionally, the CSV file, and click OK.
- Specify the upper-left corner of the table.
Specify insertion point:
What each row shows
- Point object: a running number from the First number and its coordinates.
- Block with attributes: the number, code and elevation from its attributes if it has them (tags such as NUMBER, POINT or ID; CODE or DESC; Z or ELEV). Without a number it is numbered like a point; the position is the insertion point.
- Polyline: one numbered row per vertex; the elevation is the polyline elevation (or the vertex Z in a 3D polyline).
The Code column only appears when some row has a code.
Options
- Decimals: 0 to 8. The table uses the decimal separator of the language; the CSV always uses a point.
- Order: Selection (the order in which objects were selected), Number, X or Y.
- First number: the first number for the points and vertices that do not carry one.
- Label the numbers in the drawing: writes each number next to its point or vertex, on layer COORD_NUM with the current text height. Blocks already show their own number and are not labelled.
- Export to CSV: path of the CSV file (empty: none).
Command line
While the dialog is open the same options can be typed; Enter accepts.
Table options [Decimals/Order/Start/Label/Csv] <Accept>:
Decimals (D), Order (O), Start (S), Label (L, toggles yes and no) and Csv (C, file path).
Notes
- The result is an ordinary table: edit it with TABLEDIT and export it with TABLEEXPORT. It does not update when the points move: create it again.
- AutoCAD audits the table with no errors in DWG 2018 and 2000.
