CIRCLE — Circle
Creates a circle by center and radius.
- Command:
CIRCLE· Global name:_CIRCLE· Alias:C - Ribbon: Home › Draw
- Menu: Draw
- Toolbar: Draw
Draws a circle. By default you specify the center and the radius; with its options, also by three points, by the endpoints of a diameter or tangent to two objects with a given radius.
Usage
- Enter CIRCLE (or C) or click Circle.
- Specify the center, or enter an option.
Specify center point for circle or [3P/2P/Ttr (tan tan radius)]:
- Specify the radius with a point on the circle or by typing its value.
Specify radius of circle or [Diameter]:
Options
- 3P: the circle passes through three points.
Specify first point on circle: Specify second point on circle: Specify third point on circle:
- 2P: the two points are the endpoints of a diameter.
Specify first end point of circle's diameter: Specify second end point of circle's diameter:
- Ttr (T): tangent to two objects (lines, circles, arcs or polyline segments) with the radius you enter. Select each object near where the circle should touch it and enter the radius (or give a point: the radius is its distance to the second point selected).
Specify point on object for first tangent of circle: Specify point on object for second tangent of circle: Specify radius of circle or [Diameter]:
Notes
- Type 3P and 2P in full.
- With Ttr there are usually several solutions: the one nearest the points where the objects were selected is used. If there is none with that radius, the program says so.
- With the Diameter option (D), after the center, give the diameter by typing it or with a point (its distance from the center).
- Tangent to three objects (Tan, Tan, Tan), as in AutoCAD: in 3P, type TAN before each point and select the object (line, circle, arc or polyline segment) near where it should touch it; points and TAN can be mixed.
