CHANGE — Change
Changes points and properties of objects.
- Command:
CHANGE· Global name:_CHANGE· Alias:-CH - Ribbon: Home › Modify
- Menu: Modify
Changes the geometry or the properties of the selected objects: with a change point it takes line endpoints and circle radii to that point and lets you change texts and blocks one by one; with Properties it changes the color, layer, linetype and other properties of everything selected.
Usage
- Enter CHANGE (or -CH).
- Select the objects and press Enter.
Select objects:
- Specify the change point, press Enter to go on to texts, blocks and circles, or choose Properties.
Specify change point or [Properties]:
Change point
- Lines: the endpoint of each line closest to the point is moved to it.
- Circles: the radius changes so that the circle passes through the point. Without a point (Enter), the radius of each circle is asked.
Specify new circle radius <no change>:
- Texts: the insertion point, style, height, rotation angle and text are asked one by one. Enter keeps each value.
Specify new insertion point <no change>: Enter new text style <no change>: Specify new height <no change>: Specify new rotation angle <no change>: Enter new text <no change>:
- Blocks: the insertion point and the rotation angle.
Properties
Enter property to change [Color/Elev/LAyer/LType/ltScale/LWeight/Thickness/TRansparency/Material/Annotative]:
- Color (C), LAyer (LA), LType (LT), ltScale (S), LWeight (LW) and TRansparency (TR): as in the PROPERTIES palette. The layer and the linetype must exist in the drawing.
- Elev (E): the elevation (Z) of lines (if both endpoints are at the same one), circles, arcs, polylines, texts, blocks, points, ellipses, hatches, 2D solids and shapes.
- Material (M): the name of a material of the drawing, ByLayer or ByBlock. Annotative (A... see the prompt): Yes or No.
- Thickness (T): the extrusion thickness of lines, circles, arcs, polylines, texts and points.
After each property you return to the list; Enter ends.
Notes
- Everything a CHANGE does is undone at once with U.
- It does not change the material, the plot style or the annotative property yet; of attributes, only what they have of text; of multiline texts, only the insertion point. ORTHO mode does not make the lines parallel.
