BVPARAM — Visibility Parameter
Adds a visibility parameter to the block being edited.
- Command:
BVPARAM· Global name:_BVPARAM
Adds a visibility parameter to the block being edited in the Block Editor and defines its states. A visibility state shows or hides a set of the block's objects; when inserting the block, the state is chosen from a drop-down. The block becomes dynamic and AutoCAD recognizes it as such.
Usage
- Open the block in the Block Editor (BEDIT).
- Enter BVPARAM or click Visibility Parameter on the editor bar.
- Specify the point for the visibility grip.
- For each state: type its name and select the objects visible in that state; press Enter to finish the state.
- With an empty name, and having defined two or more states, the visibility parameter is created.
- Save the block with BSAVE.
Notes
- At least two states are required.
- Block objects not present in any state are hidden in all of them.
- The active state is the first one defined; it is baked into the geometry for plain readers.
- To discard the changes of an already-inserted dynamic block, use RESETBLOCK.
- Outside the Block Editor, the command only shows a message.
