ARRAYPATH — Path array
Distributes copies of objects along a path.
- Command:
ARRAYPATH· Global name:_ARRAYPATH· Alias:PATHARRAY - Ribbon: Home › Modify
Distributes copies of the selected objects along a path curve (a line, arc, circle, polyline, ellipse or spline), as in AutoCAD 2027.
Usage
- Type ARRAYPATH (or PATHARRAY) or click Path array.
- Select the objects to distribute and press Enter. If they were already selected, they are used without asking.
Select objects:
- Select the path curve. The array starts with the default values: items spaced 1.5 times the size of the selection along the path, until it is filled.
Select path curve:
- Change what you need with the options and press Enter (or eXit) to create the array.
Select grip to edit array or [ASsociative/Method/Base point/Tangent direction/Items/Rows/Levels/Align items/Z direction/eXit] <eXit>:
Options
- ASsociative (AS): associative array (a single object, editable with ARRAYEDIT) or separate copies (ARRAYASSOCIATIVITY variable).
Create associative array [Yes/No] <…>:
- Method (M): Divide spreads the number of items over the whole path; Measure places them at the given distance from the start.
Enter path method [Divide/Measure] <…>:
- Base (B): point of the selection that is taken to the path. Without it, items are placed relative to the start of the path and the original does not move.
Specify base point <end of path curve>:
- Tangent (T): two points giving the direction of the selection that is aligned with the path tangent (by default, the tangent at the start).
Specify first point of tangent vector <path tangent>:
- Items (I): with Divide, how many items; with Measure, the distance between them and then how many (at most, those that fit; Fill places all of them).
Specify the distance between items along path <…>: Specify number of items or [Fill entire path] <…>:
- Rows (R): rows parallel to the path, at the given distance (to the left of the path direction), and elevation between rows.
- Levels (L): levels and distance between them (in Z).
- Align (A): each item rotates with the path tangent (Yes, by default) or is only moved.
Align arrayed items to the path? [Yes/No] <…>:
- Z (Z): keep the Z direction of the items (no effect in 2D).
Notes
- At a path vertex the item takes the tangent of the incoming segment, as in AutoCAD.
- Associative, with a single row and level, no base point and no own tangent, it is a LinceCAD array stored as a block: AutoCAD opens it the same, but only LinceCAD edits it with ARRAYEDIT. Otherwise separate copies are created.
- Expression and Key point are not available. On ellipses and splines the length is measured on a very fine approximation of the curve.
