ARRAYEDIT — Edit array
Changes an array's parameters and regenerates it.
- Command:
ARRAYEDIT· Global name:_ARRAYEDIT· Alias:EDITARRAY - Ribbon: Home › Modify
Changes the parameters of an array created with ARRAY or ARRAYPATH and lays it out again, without reselecting the objects.
Usage
- Type ARRAYEDIT (or EDITARRAY).
- Select the array to edit. If it was selected before the command, it is used without asking.
Select the array to edit:
- Depending on the array type, re-enter its values. Press Enter in a field to keep its current value. - Rectangular: rows, columns and spacing. > Enter the number of rows (---) <1>: > Enter the number of columns (|||) <1>: - Polar: number of items and angle (the center is kept). > Enter the number of items in the array: > Specify the angle to fill (+=ccw, -=cw) <360>: - Path: number of items or, with Distance, the spacing; the path is kept. > Enter the number of items or [Distance/Align]:
Options
- Distance / Number / Align: on a path array, switch between laying out by number or by distance and turn each copy's rotation on or off.
Source, Replace and Reset
At the first prompt these also work:
- Source: opens the source objects of the array for editing (like the block editor); when done, ARRAYCLOSE saves or discards the changes and every item changes.
- REPlace: select the replacement objects and their base point and then, as in AutoCAD 2027, the items of the array to replace (one click on each; Enter ends), or Source to replace the source of all of them. The base point goes to the reference point of each item and the replacement objects are erased.
Select replacement objects: Select base point of replacement objects: Select an item in array to replace or [Source objects] <exit>:
- RESet: lays the items out again with the array parameters (undoes single item replacements).
Notes
- A replaced item becomes like the others again if the array numbers are changed afterwards (AutoCAD keeps it).
- It only edits Lince's own arrays (blocks with their parameters stored). Selecting any other object warns and does nothing.
- A path array's path must still be in the drawing; if it was deleted, the array cannot be regenerated.
