The dialog box
- Offset from arc: distance between the arc and the text.
- Character spacing: extra space between each two characters.
- Alignment: Fit spreads the characters over the whole arc; Left, Right and Center place it at the start, at the end or in the middle, as it reads.
- Position: Convex side (outside the arc) or Concave side (inside).
- Direction: Outward from the center: the tops of the letters face outward and it reads clockwise; Inward to the center: the tops face the center and it reads counterclockwise.
Notes
- From the command line the text is centered on the convex side of the arc and reads left to right. Each character is a text entity (TEXT) rotated and centered, with the current text style (STYLE).
- Plain text entities are written (not a proxy object), so any CAD reads them and they audit clean in AutoCAD.
- For straight text, use TEXT or MTEXT.
- In scripts and with FILEDIA set to 0 the dialog box does not open.
