-VIEW — Preset Views

Sets a preset orthographic or isometric view.

• Command: -VIEW · Global name: _-VIEW · Alias: -V
• Ribbon: View › 3D Views
• Menu: View

Sets one of the AutoCAD preset orthographic or isometric views, with the target at the origin and zoom extents.

Usage

1. Enter -VIEW (or -V).

Enter an option [?/Save/Restore/Delete] or a preset view [Top/Bottom/Left/Right/Front/BAck/SW iso/SE iso/NE iso/NW iso]:

2. Choose the view.

Options

• Top, Bottom, Left, Right, Front and Back: looking along an axis.
• SW Isometric, SE Isometric, NE Isometric and NW Isometric: isometric views from above.
• In scripts the AutoCAD global options also work: _TOP, _BOTTOM, _LEFT, _RIGHT, _FRONT, _BACK, _SWISO, _SEISO, _NEISO and _NWISO.

Notes

• The same views are in the list on the View tab, in the control at the top left corner of 3D views and on the view cube (faces, edges and corners; the house is the SW isometric).
• It does not change the UCS. AutoCAD named views cannot be created or restored.
