VECTORIZAR — Vectorize image
Turns a monochrome/scanned image into drawing entities.
- Command:
VECTORIZAR· Global name:_VECTORIZE - Ribbon: Insert › Image and tracing
Turns a monochrome or scanned image, already attached with IMAGEADJUNTAR, into drawing entities: polylines, circles, arcs and lines. This is the RASTOOLS raster-to-vector step.
Usage
- Type VECTORIZAR or click Vectorize image.
- Select the image in the drawing, or press Enter to choose an image file (it is vectorized at the origin, 1 pixel = 1 unit; with FILEDIA=0 you type the path).
Select the image to vectorize or press Enter to choose a file:
- Adjust the parameters or press Enter to run with the current ones.
Set [Threshold/Fit/Minimum/Centerline/Join] or <Run> (centerline: …, join: …):
Parameters
- Threshold — binarization cutoff (0-255): a pixel darker than the threshold is ink. Enter the binarization threshold (0-255) <…>:
- Fit — fit tolerance in pixels: how far an outline may stray and still count as a line, circle or arc, and how much polylines are simplified. Enter the fit tolerance in pixels <…>:
- Minimum — drops chains shorter than this size in pixels. Enter the minimum size in pixels <…>:
- Centerline — thins strokes to one pixel (skeleton) and follows their center instead of tracing the outline; for scanned line drawings with thick strokes.
- Join — joins broken strokes whose endpoints nearly touch.
Notes
- Entities are created on the current layer and color (like SVGIMPORT); set LAYER and COLOR first if you want others.
- Outlines are recognised by least-squares fit: a near-circular outline yields a circle or an arc, a near-straight one a line, and the rest a polyline. These are standard entities that audit with no errors.
- It does not OCR text or import PDF (PDFIMPORT): those are separate raster steps in the plan.
