IMAGEEDIT — Edit image
Edits the pixels of a raster image: invert, threshold, despeckle, rotate, mirror, colour depth and resample.
- Command:
IMAGEEDIT· Global name:_IMAGEEDIT· Alias:IED - Ribbon: Insert › Image and tracing
Edits the pixels of a raster image in the drawing. The edited image is saved to a new PNG file, next to the original (which is not touched), and the drawing image is relinked to that new file.
Usage
- Enter IMAGEEDIT (or IED) or click the button.
- Select the image.
Select the image to edit:
- Choose the operation.
Enter the operation [Invert/Threshold/despecKle/Rotate/Mirror/Depth/reSample] <Invert>:
- Depending on the operation, enter the value (threshold, degrees of rotation, axis, depth or resample factor).
Options
- Invert (I): negative of the image (keeps transparency).
- Threshold (T): black or white by luminance, at the threshold you enter (0-255).
- despecKle (K): cleans speckle noise with a 3×3 median.
- Rotate (R): rotates the image 90, 180 or 270 degrees.
- Mirror (M): horizontal or vertical mirror.
- Depth (D): colour depth (Mono, Grey or Colour).
- reSample (S): changes the resolution by a factor, keeping the size in the drawing.
Notes
- The original file is never changed: the edit goes to a new file
<name>-ed.png. - Rotate and resample change the size in pixels; the drawing frame is adjusted to the new size.
- Vectorization (raster to vector), PDF to DWG and OCR are not done here: they are a later step of the plan.
