REVCLOUD — Revision Cloud
Draws a revision cloud: rectangular, polygonal, freehand or from an object.
- Command:
REVCLOUD· Global name:_REVCLOUD - Ribbon: Home › Draw
- Menu: Draw
Draws a revision cloud: a polyline made of arcs used to mark the changes on a drawing. The cloud can be rectangular, polygonal or freehand, or made from an existing object.
Usage
- Enter REVCLOUD or click Revision Cloud.
- Choose the type of cloud with its option, if it is not the current one, and specify the first point. The prompt shows the current type; Enter goes to the Object option.
Specify first corner point or [Arc length/Object/Rectangular/Polygonal/Freehand/Style/Modify] <Object>:
- Rectangular: specify the opposite corner and the cloud is created.
Specify opposite corner:
- Polygonal and freehand: specify the next points and press Enter to finish.
Specify next point or [Undo]:
Options
- Arc length (A): minimum and maximum arc length. The maximum cannot exceed three times the minimum.
Specify minimum length of arc <…>: Specify maximum length of arc <…>:
- Object (O): turns a polyline, circle, ellipse or spline into a cloud. The cloud replaces the object and takes its layer, color and linetype; the direction of the arcs can be reversed.
Reverse direction [Yes/No] <No>:
- Rectangular (R), Polygonal (P) and Freehand (F): type of cloud.
- Style (S): Normal or Calligraphy (arcs of varying width, as if drawn with a pen nib).
- Modify (M): changes a piece of a cloud. Select the cloud at the point where the new part starts (or specify it with First point), give the points of the new part until a segment crosses the cloud again and pick the side of the cloud to erase; the new part, with its arcs, takes its place in the same polyline.
Select polyline to modify: Specify next point or [First point]: Pick a side to erase: Reverse direction [Yes/No] <No>: Select arc style [Normal/Calligraphy] <Normal>:
- Undo (U): removes the last point of a polygonal or freehand cloud.
Notes
- A polygonal cloud closes itself when you press Enter. A freehand cloud closes when you come back near the first point; if you press Enter before, it stays open. Freehand clouds are also drawn with clicks, point by point.
- The arc lengths, the style and the type are remembered for the next cloud.
- The cloud is saved like AutoCAD's (a polyline with 110° arcs) and is edited with PEDIT.
