RECTANG — Rectangle
Creates a rectangle from two opposite corners.
- Command:
RECTANG· Global name:_RECTANG· Alias:REC,RECTANGLE - Ribbon: Home › Draw
- Menu: Draw
- Toolbar: Draw
Draws a rectangle with its sides parallel to the X and Y axes of the current UCS from two opposite corners. The rectangle is a closed polyline with four vertices.
Usage
- Enter RECTANG (or REC) or click Rectangle.
- Specify the first corner.
Specify first corner point or [Chamfer/Elevation/Fillet/Thickness/Width]:
- Specify the opposite corner, with a click or with relative coordinates:
@40,25draws a 40 × 25 rectangle.
Specify other corner point or [Area/Dimensions/Rotation]:
Options
Before the first corner:
- Chamfer: two distances (the first counts on the side that arrives at each corner). Fillet: radius. One cancels the other.
- Elevation, Thickness (extrusion height) and Width (line width).
Specify first chamfer distance for rectangles <…>:
After the first corner:
- Area: the area and the length or width; the rectangle is created at once, up and to the right.
- Dimensions: length and width; the opposite corner gives the quadrant.
- Rotation: rotation of the rectangle (an angle, or a point giving the direction).
Notes
- The two corners must have different X and different Y (in the UCS). With a rotated UCS (see UCS), the rectangle is rotated with it.
- The Chamfer, Elevation, Fillet, Thickness and Width modes are remembered for the next rectangles (as in AutoCAD). With chamfer or fillet the rectangle has eight vertices; if they do not fit the sides, it is drawn plain.
- As it is a polyline, it is edited with PEDIT and exploded into four lines with EXPLODE.
