OVERKILL — Delete Duplicate Objects

Deletes duplicate objects and combines overlapping lines and arcs.

Cleans a drawing of repeated objects: it erases exact duplicates and combines overlapping lines and arcs into a single one. It is useful with imported drawings or with objects drawn several times on top of each other.

Usage

  1. Enter OVERKILL.
  2. Select the objects to check and press Enter. If they were already selected before starting the command, they are used without asking.
Select objects:
  1. The Delete Duplicate Objects dialog box opens, as in AutoCAD 2027: the tolerance, the properties ignored when comparing and the combine options. OK cleans up. In scripts (and with -OVERKILL) the prompt shows the current settings; change the ones you want and press Enter (or choose Done) to clean up.
Current settings: Tolerance=…, Ignore=…, Optimize polylines=…, Combine partial overlap=…, Combine end-to-end=…. Enter an option to change [Done/Ignore/tOlerance/optimize Polylines/combine parTial overlap/combine End-to-end] <done>:
  1. When it finishes, the command line reports how many duplicates and how many overlapping objects or segments were deleted.

Options

Specify Tolerance <…>:
Specify properties to ignore (…) or [All/None] <…>:
