- Ribbon: Mapping › Geolocation
- Menu: Insert
- Menu: Mapping
Imports GIS data (SHP, KML, KMZ or GeoJSON files) as drawing objects, in the drawing's coordinates and with their attributes.
Usage
- Enter MAPIMPORT (or SHP2CAD) or click the button. The Import SHP, KML or GeoJSON dialog box opens and, at the same time, the command line asks.
- Choose the file with Browse… or enter its path. The number of features and fields is shown.
SHP, KML, KMZ or GeoJSON file:
- Optionally, choose the field whose value gives the layer name of each feature.
Field for the layer (…) or [None] <None>:
- Optionally, choose a block of the drawing for the points; otherwise each point is a point object.
Block name for the points <point object>:
- In the dialog box, check the File coordinate system and click OK.
Notes
- Points, lines and polygons are reprojected to the drawing's system (GEOGRAPHICLOCATION) according to the SHP's
.prj; KML, KMZ and GeoJSON are always in WGS84. If the drawing has no system, it takes the file's (or, if it is latitude and longitude, the UTM system of its zone). - Polygons become closed polylines, without hatching; their holes, other closed polylines.
- Attributes are stored in each object as extended data (application
LINCE_SHP), and MAPEXPORT writes them out again. If the points are a block, its attributes take the value of the field with the same name. - KML styles and network links are not read. 3D objects in SHP files (multipatch) are skipped.
