GEOIMAGE — Insert Georeferenced Image
Inserts an image at its real coordinates, from its world file or its GeoTIFF tags.
- Command:
GEOIMAGE· Global name:_GEOIMAGE - Ribbon: Insert › Geolocation
- Ribbon: Mapping › Geolocation
Inserts a georeferenced image (an orthophoto, a scanned map) directly at its real coordinates, with its scale and rotation, without specifying any point.
Usage
- Enter GEOIMAGE or click the button.
- Enter the image path, or press Enter to choose it in a dialog box.
Enter image file name to attach or [Browse] <Browse>:
The image is placed and the command shows where the georeference came from and the image's coordinate system.
Notes
- The position comes from the world file next to the image (
.tfw,.jgw,.pgw,.bpw,.tifw,.wld...) or, if there is none, from the GeoTIFF tags of the TIFF itself. Without either, the command warns and inserts nothing. - The image's coordinate system is taken from its
.prjfile or from the GeoTIFF tags. - If the image states its system and the drawing has one (GEOGRAPHICLOCATION), the image is reprojected to the drawing's system. If that is not possible, it is inserted without reprojection and a warning is shown.
- The path is saved relative to the drawing's folder, as in IMAGEATTACH.
- For an image without a georeference, place it with GEOREFIMAGE.
