ISOLATEOBJECTS — Isolate Objects
Hides everything except the selected objects.
- Command:
ISOLATEOBJECTS· Global name:_ISOLATEOBJECTS· Alias:ISOLATE - Ribbon: View › Isolate
- Menu: View
Leaves only the selected objects in view: everything else in the same space (model or layout) is hidden until isolation ends. It helps to work on a part of a busy drawing without changing layers.
Usage
- Enter ISOLATEOBJECTS or choose Isolate Objects on the ISOLATE button of the status bar.
- Select the objects you want to keep seeing and press Enter. If they were already selected before starting the command, they are isolated without asking.
Select objects:
- To see everything again, use UNISOLATEOBJECTS or End Object Isolation on the same button.
Notes
- It does not change the drawing: nothing is saved or undone and the visibility of layers is not touched.
- Hidden objects cannot be seen, selected or used with object snaps.
- The ISOLATE button of the status bar is lit while there are hidden objects.
- Known limit: hidden objects show again if the whole view is rebuilt (for example, when changing the color of a layer or switching to a layout).
