INTERSECT — Intersect
Keeps the volume common to several solids.
- Command:
INTERSECT· Global name:_INTERSECT· Alias:IN - Ribbon: Home › Modify
Keeps the volume common to several solids (boolean intersection), like AutoCAD's INTERSECT. Between polyhedra it is computed by an in-house BSP modeler (pure Rust), exact even with coplanar faces.
Usage
- Type INTERSECT or click it in the ribbon.
- Select two or more solids and press Enter.
Select the solids and press Enter:
The selected solids are replaced by their intersection. The result keeps the properties (layer, color, material…) of the first solid selected.
Notes
- Between polyhedra (planar-faced solids) the result is exact: AutoCAD audits it with no errors and MASSPROP reports the exact volume, also with coplanar faces (walls flush at the top and bottom, solids touching along a face).
- Solids with curved faces are not yet supported in booleans; they come in a later phase.
