EXTRUDE — Extrude
Creates a solid by extruding a closed profile a given height.
- Command:
EXTRUDE· Global name:_EXTRUDE· Alias:EXT - Ribbon: Home › Draw
Creates a 3D solid by extruding one or more closed profiles a given height, like AutoCAD's EXTRUDE. Modeling uses the truck kernel (pure Rust) and the result is stored as an ACIS 3DSOLID, just like AutoCAD.
Usage
- Type EXTRUDE or click it in the ribbon.
- Select one or more closed profiles (polylines, circles, ellipses…) and press Enter.
Select the closed profiles and press Enter:
- Enter the height (positive towards +Z, negative towards −Z).
Extrusion height:
Exact vs faceted
- Polygonal profiles (straight edges only): the solid is exact; AutoCAD audits it with no errors and MASSPROP reports the exact volume.
- Profiles with arcs or curves: the outline is approximated with segments and the solid comes out faceted.
