HELP — Help
Displays the LinceCAD help.
- Command:
HELP· Global name:_HELP· Shortcut: F1 - Ribbon: Manage › Help
- Menu: LinceCAD
- Menu: Help
Opens the LinceCAD help viewer. If a command is running, it opens the page of that command directly.
Usage
- Press F1, enter HELP or choose Help on the Help menu.
- While a command is running, F1 opens its page; with the mouse over a button of the ribbon or of a toolbar, F1 opens the page of that button's command. Otherwise the general help opens.
The viewer
- Contents: the table of contents as a tree (general help, user manual, commands, system variables and AutoLISP functions). Click an entry to show it.
- Index: alphabetical list of commands and terms; click one to go to its page.
- Search: looks for words in the text of all pages and lists the pages that contain them.
- Back and Forward: step through the pages you have seen, as in a web browser.
- Manual (PDF): opens the complete manual as a PDF, in the language of the interface, to read or print it.
Command pages start with the command name, its English global name, its alias, its shortcut and where it is on the ribbon and in the menus. Prompt texts are the same ones the command line shows.
Notes
- Links lead to other help pages; those starting with
https://open in the web browser. - The help works without an Internet connection: the pages are installed with the program.
