DATALINK — Data link
Creates a table linked to an Excel or CSV file.
- Command:
DATALINK· Global name:_DATALINK· Alias:DL - Ribbon: Annotate › Tables
Creates a table linked to an external Excel (.xlsx, .xls, .ods) or CSV file. The table stores the link (path, sheet and range) so it can be refreshed with ACTUALIZARDATOS.
Use
- Type DATALINK or click its button. The Data Link Manager opens with the links of the drawing (their Name, File, Sheet and Range): - Edit...: changes the name, file, sheet or range of the chosen link; on OK the table is read again from the new source. - Update: reads the table of the chosen link again (like ACTUALIZARDATOS). - Unlink: removes the link; the table keeps its data. - Create a new data link...: goes on with the steps below to create a linked table. In scripts and with FILEDIA set to 0 the manager does not open: it starts with the file.
- Type the path of the data file.
Data file (.xlsx, .xls, .ods or .csv):
- If it is an Excel workbook with several sheets, choose the sheet (Enter = the first one).
Sheet […]:
- Enter the cell range (for example
A1:C10) or press Enter for the whole sheet.
Range (e.g. A1:C10), or Enter for the whole sheet:
- Specify the table insertion point.
Specify the insertion point:
Notes
- The first row read becomes the table header.
- The table is a normal table (TABLE) with the link stored as extended data: it audits clean in AutoCAD and any CAD reads it. AutoCAD shows the written values but does not refresh it by itself; use ACTUALIZARDATOS in Lince.
- Excel is read with the calamine library (read-only); date values may appear as a serial number.
- A new link takes the file name as its name; change it with Edit....
