BREPLACE — Replace Blocks
Replaces the selected block references with another block.
- Command:
BREPLACE· Global name:_BREPLACE - Ribbon: Insert › Block
Replaces the selected block references with another block of the drawing, like AutoCAD BREPLACE.
Usage
- Enter BREPLACE (or select the references first) and select the references to replace; press Enter.
Select block references to replace:
- Enter the name of the block that replaces them (
?lists those in the drawing).
Enter name of replacement block or [?]:
Notes
- Each reference keeps its insertion point, scales, rotation and layer. Its attributes are rebuilt from the definitions of the new block: those with the same tag keep their value and the rest take the default one.
- A reference of a dynamic block becomes a plain reference of the new block.
- In AutoCAD 2027, BREPLACE opens the Blocks palette (and asks to sign in to Autodesk): it cannot be checked in its console and has a unit test. To change every reference of a block, use BLOCKREPLACE.
