STLOUT — Export to STL/OBJ
Saves the drawing's 3D tessellation as STL or OBJ for 3D printing.
- Command:
STLOUT· Global name:_STLOUT· Alias:3DPRINT,3DP,3DPLOT,RAPIDPROTOTYPE - Ribbon: Output › Export
Saves the drawing's 3D tessellation (solids, surfaces, regions and meshes) to an STL or OBJ file, for 3D printing or to move it to another program.
Usage
- Type STLOUT (or 3DPRINT) or click Export to STL/OBJ.
- Give the output file; its extension picks the format.
STL or OBJ file:
- For STL, choose binary (more compact) or ASCII (text).
Binary STL? [Yes/No] <Yes>:
Formats
- .stl — triangles with their normal, binary (default) or ASCII.
- .obj — Wavefront OBJ with vertices and faces.
Notes
- It exports the same tessellation the 3D viewer shows; facet fineness comes from FACETRES.
- ACIS solids, surfaces and regions and meshes (FACE3D, MESH, PFACE, 3DMESH) in model space are included.
- Geometry inside blocks (INSERT) and THICKNESS extrusions are not exported yet.
