ONLINEMAPS — Online maps
Opens the map layer manager (on/off, transparency, order, refresh, clipping).
- Command:
ONLINEMAPS· Global name:_ONLINEMAPS - Ribbon: Mapping › Map services
- Menu: Mapping
Opens the Online maps palette, the map layer manager (like the AutoCAD Map 3D Display Manager). Each layer added with MAPCONNECT has a row; the top one is drawn on top.
In each row
- The check box turns the layer on or off; Transparency fades it (0–90 %).
- ▲ ▼ move it up or down among the map layers.
- ⟳ Refresh in this area: requests it again for the current view. ⌖ Zoom to layer.
- ⚙ Properties…: name, format, server system, background and style (it is requested again on OK).
- 🗑 deletes the map layer.
- Automatic: requested again by itself half a second after panning or zooming, only if its image no longer covers the view at enough resolution. The previous image stays until the new one arrives.
- Right-clicking the row (or the map in the drawing) offers Clip to the visible area, Clip manually… and Remove clipping (MAPCLIP).
Notes
- By default map layers go below all entities; Above the entities puts them on top.
- Map layers are not selected and give no object snaps: they are handled from here.
- In the DWG each layer is an ordinary attached image (the file is in the LinceCAD cache) with its connection data in extended data: AutoCAD opens it without errors; on another computer LinceCAD requests it again.
- Downloaded images are cached by area and scale: going back to a view already seen downloads nothing.
