LEADER — Leader

Draws a leader (not a multileader) with its text.

• Command: LEADER · Global name: _LEADER · Alias: LEAD
• Ribbon: Annotate › Leaders

Draws an AutoCAD leader (LEADER: a line with an arrowhead and its associated text), like AutoCAD 2027 LEADER. For leaders with their own style, use MLEADER.

Use

1. Type LEADER.
2. Specify the arrowhead point and the next points; Enter ends the line.

Specify next point or [Annotation/Format/Undo] <Annotation>:

3. Type the text lines; Enter on an empty line ends.

Enter first line of annotation text or <options>:

Options

• Format (F): Spline or STraight, and Arrow or None (no arrowhead).
• Undo (U): removes the last point.
• Enter on the first text line: None makes the leader without text.

Notes

• If the last segment is not horizontal, a horizontal hook of DIMASZ is added, as in AutoCAD; the text goes next to the end, at DIMGAP, above the line with DIMTAD (the ISO-25 one).
• It uses the current dimension style (arrowhead, sizes and text style).
• The Tolerance, Copy and Block annotations of AutoCAD are missing.
