- Command:
GEOCOORD· Global name:_GEOCOORD - Ribbon: Insert › Geolocation
- Ribbon: Mapping › Geolocation
- Menu: Insert
- Menu: Mapping
Shows the coordinates of a point of the drawing in another coordinate system: by default, its latitude and longitude in WGS84. It works like ID, but for geographic coordinates.
Usage
- Enter GEOCOORD or click the button.
- Specify the point (with an object snap or by typing its coordinates).
Specify point or [System] <EPSG:…>:
The command line shows the point's coordinates in the drawing's system and in the target system.
Options
- System (S): changes the target system. Enter its EPSG code or its AutoCAD code.
EPSG code of the target system <…>:
Notes
- The drawing needs its coordinate system (GEOGRAPHICLOCATION); if it has none, the command warns.
- In a geographic system, latitude and longitude are shown in degrees; in a projected one, X and Y in meters.
- Any system of the catalog can be used (over 300; see the table in Georeferencing). If the target has another datum, the accuracy is that of the datum shift given there.
- With the drawing's system set, the status bar always shows the cursor's latitude and longitude.
