Changes the draw order of objects.
- Command:
DRAWORDER· Global name:_DRAWORDER· Alias:DR - Ribbon: Home › Modify
- Menu: Tools
Changes the order in which overlapping objects are drawn: it brings the selection to the front or sends it to the back of everything, or above or under other specific objects. It is useful with images, solid hatches and wipeouts.
Usage
- Enter DRAWORDER (or DR).
- Select the objects and press Enter. If they were already selected before starting the command, they are used without asking.
Select objects:
- Choose where they go (Enter: to the back).
Enter object ordering option [Above objects/Under objects/Front/Back] <Back>:
- With Above or Under, select the reference objects and press Enter.
Select reference objects:
Options
- Above (A): just above the highest of the reference objects.
- Under (U): just under the lowest of the reference objects.
- Front (F): in front of every object in its space.
- Back (B): behind every object in its space.
Notes
- The order is saved in the drawing (SORTENTS table of model space or of the layout), as in AutoCAD, which reads it the same way. It can be undone.
- The selected objects keep the order they had among themselves.
- When it finishes, the view is regenerated so that the new order shows. After undoing it, use REGEN if the order on screen is not up to date.
