DIMORDINATE — Ordinate
Creates an ordinate dimension.
- Command:
DIMORDINATE· Global name:_DIMORDINATE· Alias:DOR,DIMORD - Ribbon: Annotate › Dimensions
Dimensions the X or Y coordinate of a point relative to the drawing origin, with a leader from the point to the text. It is the usual dimension in machining or setting-out drawings.
Usage
- Enter DIMORDINATE (or DOR).
- Specify the point to dimension (the feature).
Specify feature location:
- Specify the leader endpoint. If the leader runs mostly vertically, the X is dimensioned; if it runs horizontally, the Y.
Specify leader endpoint or [Xdatum/Ydatum/Mtext/Text/Angle]:
Options
- Xdatum (X): dimensions the X of the point even if the leader runs horizontally.
- Ydatum (Y): dimensions the Y of the point.
Notes
- The measurement is the coordinate in the world coordinate system.
- If the endpoint is not aligned with the point, the leader has a diagonal jog, as in AutoCAD.
- The dimension uses the current dimension style (DIMSTYLE).
- If its points lie on the geometry (endpoint, midpoint, center...), the dimension is associated with it and follows it when it is moved, stretched or scaled (DIMASSOC). With an annotative dimension style, the dimension is annotative.
