3DFORBIT — Free Orbit

Rotates the view freely around the screen axes.

• Command: 3DFORBIT · Global name: _3DFORBIT
• Ribbon: View › 3D Views

Free orbit: like 3DORBIT, but dragging rotates the view around the screen axes, so the view may end up twisted (the Z axis no longer has to look vertical).

Usage

1. Enter 3DFORBIT or click the button on the View tab.

Drag to rotate the view; Enter or Esc to end:

2. Drag with the left button: horizontally it rotates around the vertical screen axis and vertically around the horizontal one.
3. Press Enter or Esc to end.

Notes

• The view twist is saved as VIEWTWIST.
