XBIND — Bind Reference Symbols
Binds layers, linetypes, styles and blocks of an external reference to the drawing.
- Command:
XBIND· Global name:_XBIND· Alias:XB - Ribbon: Insert › Reference
Binds single symbols of an external reference (blocks, dimension styles, layers, linetypes and text styles) to the drawing, like AutoCAD XBIND: the symbol REF|name is renamed REF$0$name and no longer depends on the reference, which stays attached. To bind the whole reference, use Bind in XREF.
Usage
- Enter XBIND (or XB). In the Xbind dialog box, tick the symbols of each type and click OK.
In scripts, SCRIPT and AutoLISP there is no dialog box: it asks as in -XBIND.
Notes
- A layer also binds its dependent linetype. If the name
REF$0$namealready exists,$1$,$2$... are used. - When the reference is reloaded, its dependent symbols appear again as
REF|name. The dialog box cannot be scripted in the AutoCAD console: it has a unit test.
