LAYFRZ — Freeze
Freezes the layer of the selected object.
- Command:
LAYFRZ· Global name:_LAYFRZ - Ribbon: Home › Layers
Freezes the layer of the objects you select. A frozen layer is neither displayed nor plotted, like a layer that is off, and it is also not regenerated, which makes large drawings lighter. The command keeps asking for objects until you press Enter.
Usage
- Enter LAYFRZ or click Freeze on the ribbon.
Select an object on the layer to be frozen or [Settings/Undo]:
- Select an object: its layer is frozen. Repeat with other objects.
- Press Enter to finish.
Options
- Settings (S): inside a layout viewport, whether the layer is frozen in that viewport only or in the whole drawing.
In paper space viewport use [Vpfreeze/Freeze] <Vpfreeze>:
- Undo (U): thaws the last layer frozen in this command.
Notes
- If objects are selected before the command starts, their layers are frozen and the command ends.
- The current layer cannot be frozen: a warning is shown and it does not change.
- The layer is frozen in the whole drawing. To freeze it in one layout viewport only, use the VP Freeze column of the LAYER.
