DIMOVERRIDE — Override dimension variables

Changes style variables in the selected dimensions without changing their style.

• Command: DIMOVERRIDE · Global name: _DIMOVERRIDE · Alias: DOV, DIMOVER
• Ribbon: Annotate › Dimensions

Changes dimension style variables in the selected dimensions without changing their style, like AutoCAD 2027 DIMOVERRIDE.

Use

1. Type DIMOVERRIDE.
2. Enter a dimension variable (DIMTXT, DIMASZ…) and its new value; repeat with others and press Enter.

Enter dimension variable name to override or [Clear overrides]:

3. Select the dimensions and press Enter.

Options

• Clear overrides: removes all overrides from the selected dimensions (they go back to their style).

Notes

• Overrides are stored in the dimension as in AutoCAD (ACAD extended data, DSTYLE) and show when it is opened in AutoCAD.
• It works for the numeric dimension variables (sizes, precision, fit, tolerances, alternate units); not for DIMPOST, the arrow blocks or the colors.
